I wanted to make a body cleansing day a couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday when I would only eat vegetables and fruits and would only drink water. As I made huge amounts of salad, I have extended my cleansing period to three days. The result after three days: I had more energy, healthier feeling, less stress and better look. I plan to do a cleansing day in the future once every month or so. I recommend for you to try this out for one day. Doing it for three days is possible too, however a bit more challenging.
Very simple, just follow these simple rules: only eat raw vegetables and fruits and drink water or tea during the day(s). You can find countless of inspiration for what and how to eat on youtube / vimeo, I’ll link a few nice ones. I’ve made different salads (ie. one lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, kohlrabi) and add olive oil lemon juice mixed with fresh (pressed) garlic and ginger as a dressing. Alternatively you could eat avocado with mushrooms etc. Some people recommend only drinking smoothies, 5-6 times a day. I had smoothies 2-3 times a day: veggies mixed with fruits.
Drink plenty of water during the period, around 2-3 liters. Actually it’s even better if you drink lemon water. This has many health benefits as it helps digestion and detoxification, promotes weight loss, boosts energy.
Drink only water or herbal tea during the cleansing.
Please note that you should always consult your nutritionist before you start a diet like this, even when you make only one day. Also it is not recommended to do any hard physical training. I’d recommend to focus on your mind and do meditation, stretches, deep breathing exercises.
1 fresh medium banana
250g of strawberries
100g of spinach, kale or other green
6-8 fresh mint leaves
Pay attention to your breathing. Breathe slowly and deeply during the day. Try meditation. Go out in the nature, walk for even a short time, however the longer the better. Walk in the park or even better: in the forest.
Once you body was cleaned check how do you feel afterwards. I bet you will feel different and better. The goal is to keep the toxins out of your body, so you should be careful about what you consume.
Consume every day
Coffee (1-2 cup a day)
Soft drinks, drinks with sugar, energy drinks
Unhealthy snacks (with added chemicals, preservatives and flavor enhancing chemicals)
Low quality meat
Low quality products (usually cheap, preprocessed food)
